1.8.5
DownloadFixes for logos on name holograms.
Fixed
- On some servers the logo was added to name holograms again and again until they filled the screen.
- No more box between the logo and the name; the logo now sits right in front of the name.
- Holograms that do not show the player's name no longer get a logo.
-
1.8.4
See how many players are online, logos on name holograms.
New
- Next to the version at the top of the menu: how many Toad's Visuals players are playing right now.
- Logos and gold names also show on servers that display names with holograms (text displays, armor stands).
Changed
- The tab list and your own logo always show the logos; the switch now only hides logos above other players' heads.
Fixed
- Nick: your name no longer shows twice above your head (F5) on servers that show it themselves.
-
1.8.3
Picture logos, gold names and a better nick.
New
- Picture logos: players can get their own picture as logo (in the tab list and above the head), seen by all Toad's Visuals players.
- Gold name: a shining gold name for chosen players, seen by other Toad's Visuals players.
Fixed
- Nick: your real name is now replaced everywhere on your screen (tab list, chat, F5, name holograms of the server) instead of showing up next to the nick; ranks and colours stay.
-
1.8.2
See each other's logo on every server.
New
- Logo sync: all Toad's Visuals players see each other's Toad logo in the tab list and above the head, on every server, without a server plugin. Mojang confirms the account, only the Minecraft UUID is stored; it can be switched off in Settings → Privacy.
-
1.8.1
Diamond and netherite tools as their own collections, nick skin fix.
New
- Diamond Sword, Netherite Sword, Diamond Axe, Netherite Axe … are collections of their own, like the armor: each gets its own pack. The other tools are in "Other Swords", "Other Axes" …
- Nick: a Load again button, and the settings say why a skin could not be loaded.
Changed
- "Separate" from 1.8.0 is replaced by the new collections. A diamond pack no longer goes on netherite by itself; choose Both for that.
Fixed
- Nick skin: the chosen skin is now also used when a server sends your tab list entry again, and the lookup no longer runs on every typed letter.
-
1.8.0
Separate diamond and netherite textures, nick, bigger or smaller menu, Minecraft 26.2.
New
- Tools: "Separate" picks one pack for diamond and another one for netherite (Pick for: Diamond / Netherite). Diamond and netherite armor link to each other, so each has its own pack, worn armor included.
- Settings → Nick: another name and the skin of another player, only on your screen (tab list and above your head).
- Your own name with the Toad logo above your head in third person (F5).
- Window size is a slider (40 % to full screen) with - and + buttons.
- The "open with" hint at game start can be switched off in Settings → General.
- Also available for Minecraft 26.2.
Fixed
- Names after the logo in the tab list and above heads showed as boxes.
-
1.7.5
Own kill effect animations, Skyboxify skies, Right Shift and diamond/netherite/both.
New
- Kill effects and item animations are the mod's own animations now (glows, sparks, rings, hearts, confetti, smoke, lightning, beams) instead of Minecraft particles.
- Armor and tools: choose Diamond, Netherite or Both for the style you picked; tools also choose the look for Both.
- Many more sounds for shield break and totem pop (60).
- Every game start shows how to open the menu, until you open it.
Changed
- The menu key is Right Shift (L and O move to it once).
- Sky editor reworked: the sky goes into the generated pack as an OptiFine sky and the Skyboxify mod draws it; new preview of the whole horizon, time of day, cover or glow.
- The player logo is always on and always the Toad's Visuals logo.
Fixed
- 3D item previews: the edges of items no longer show stray stripes when you turn or tilt them.
-
1.6.0
Sound editor, sky editor, hide armor, player logo and share codes for presets.
New
- Sound editor: kill, hit, shield break and totem pop sounds in one place, with your own .ogg files, preview and volume.
- Hide armor: your own armor, other players' and mobs', each hidden or see-through (opacity slider).
- Sky editor: premade skies, OptiFine skies found in your packs, or your own 3×2 image.
- Player logo in the tab list and above your head; other players' logos on servers that pass them on (opt-in).
- Share codes: copy a preset as one line of text and import it with Paste. Missing packs are listed by name.
- Presets can keep your EXTRAS settings; duplicate button for presets.
- Tool variants: use a pack's diamond or netherite design on both tiers (swords, axes, pickaxes, shovels, hoes, spears).
- Block outline editor: live preview, colour presets, quick thickness and reset.
Changed
- Settings are sorted into categories with a side menu.
- The debug log is on by default (Settings → Privacy & debug).
- Smaller mod file: fonts trimmed to the characters the menu uses, smaller icon.
Fixed
- Textures were not applied with launchers that move the resource pack folder (Dawn/Feather, Prism, MultiMC): the generated pack now goes where Minecraft reads packs.
- Preinstalled packs: one broken pack no longer stops the others; damaged copies are detected and logged.
Removed
- Enemy HUD and the totem pop counter (information about other players).
- Texture collections for hearts, potions, the crosshair texture, snowballs, buckets, fishing rods, flint and steel, mount armor and shears (the crosshair editor stays).
-
1.5.0
Fair play: the mod only shows what you can see yourself, and servers can switch features off.
New
- Servers can switch off fullbright, the enemy HUD and the totem pop counter (toadsvisuals:server_rules packet).
- Reset button for every EXTRAS module.
Changed
- Enemy HUD: no more health, exact distance, durability or enchantments of other players. It shows head, name, the armor and items you can see on them and the totem pops you saw.
- Totem pop counter: only counts pops of players in your line of sight.
- Item markers are only for your own items.
- Fullbright no longer removes the Darkness effect; water stays at least 40 % visible in the opacity editor.
- The Discord status is now off by default (turn it on in Settings).
-
1.4.2
Fix: the generated resource pack always has clean JSON metadata.
Fixed
- pack.mcmeta is written by a JSON serializer and checked before the pack is used: valid UTF-8, no control characters, strict JSON. Formatting codes (§) and control characters in names and descriptions are removed.
- Animation .mcmeta files and other JSON from packs with comments, trailing commas, a byte order mark or raw control characters are written again as clean JSON; files that are not JSON are left out with a warning instead of breaking the reload.
-
1.3.2
Fullbright, hit sounds, invisible shield and your own block outline.
New
- CPvP essentials: Fullbright (strength 10–100 %, your brightness setting stays as it is).
- CPvP essentials: invisible shield – you see through your own shield in first person, also while blocking.
- Hit sounds: 18 sounds or your own .ogg/.wav when you hit someone; only when the hit lands, only players, volume, pitch and pitch variation.
- Block outline: your own colour or rainbow, thickness, opacity, a see-through fill, the block's shape or one box.
Changed
- Bedrock and Ancient Debris moved from Crystal PvP to Blocks & world.
-
1.3.0
PvP modes, more textures, armor HUD and your own PvP HUD.
New
- PvP modes in the PVP sidebar: Crystal PvP, Netherite Pot, Mace PvP, Sword PvP, Axe PvP, Cart PvP, Diamond Crystal and Spear PvP, each with the textures that mode uses.
- New texture collections: Netherite Armor, Diamond Armor, Potions, TNT Cart, Rails, Fishing Rod, Buckets, Flint & Steel, Snowballs, Fireworks and Mount Armor (horse and nautilus).
- Armor HUD: your armor (and your hands if you want) with durability as percent, durability left, a bar or icons only; column or row, background and size; drag it in the chat.
- PvP HUD: pick any items to count, potions by effect (healing, strength, speed, fire resistance), presets for every PvP mode, column or row, background, text and accent colour.
- Enemy HUD: the totem pop counter in its own row, next to the name or as a badge on the head; background choice; weapon and off hand optional.
- Item markers are now pixel icons and/or coloured frames, the same on your items and the enemy's; new: Lunge (spear) and Unbreaking.
Fixed
- Enemy HUD: the totem icon no longer overlaps the health bar, the health number fits inside the bar and long names are cut off.
- Item marker letters now use the marker's colour; markers on the enemy's items in the enemy HUD.
-

New

- Totem pops in chat (optional): a line only you see when a player near you pops a totem, with their count.
Changed
- PVP menu: sections in a sidebar on the left, the tiles of one section on the right; search looks through all sections.
- The totem pop sound of "No totem pop sound" is now inaudible instead of removed, so the pop counter still works.
Removed
- Quick setups.
-

- PVP home in sections (Crystal PvP, weapons & armor, HUD & screen, blocks & world, items & tools) that open and close, with jump buttons, progress per section and "Reset all".
- Your textures and settings stay across game starts: if the generated pack is missing, switched off or older than your choices, it is written again at the start.

Fixed
- Settings are saved when the menu closes, also changes still being typed.
